Our 2023 Honda Accord Buyer’s Guide

Most years, the changes between models are small, with a tweak here and there, a new feature installed, or an engine swap. However, once in a while, we get something special: a new generation that takes the best of the older generation and uses that to construct better, future-forward vehicles. Since 1976, you could look for a Honda Accord for sale, knowing that this reliable commuter was something you could trust to keep moving, keep you safe, and provide a comfortable, relaxed ride. Now, the eleventh generation of the Accord is set to appear in 2023, and like any new generation, it has kept what people love most about the Honda midsize sedan while also adding its own flourishes, like a brand-new design, more supportive seating, and a trunk that can hold 16.7 cubic feet of luggage, sports gear, gym bags, and groceries.
The latest iteration of the Accord is sure to surprise and delight old and new fans alike, with plenty to offer in the way of comfort, technology, and safety. Are you ready to learn more about the Honda Accord to see if it’s the right model for you? Let’s see what Honda has available for buyers of the 2023 model.
Design Elements Reimagined
The 2023 Accord has a brand new style, designed to look more sleek and sporty than previous generations. The outside gives a subtle nod to design elements from a variety of sources, including other vehicles in the Honda lineup. However, this sedan is more than just a pretty fascia. The newest Accord is packed to the gills with high-end design elements, features, and tech.
The interior has also been re-designed, mostly to better support passengers and drivers but also to give the Accord the look and feel of quality comfort. Cloth is standard for three trims, but the others all have leather seating, and the air vents have been paneled over with a honeycomb pattern trim, which not only looks nice but also keeps the vents clean and free of objects. With all of this and enough trunk space to carry almost anything, you’ll be able to look forward to driving again. The 2023 Honda Accord promises to be a most exciting addition to the Honda lineup.
Motors and Engines and Hybrids, Oh My!
With a new generation comes some changes to the engine lineup. No matter which engine option you choose, you will get front-wheel drive, as all-wheel drive is not an available option for this sedan. The 2023 Accord is going to come with an adjusted hybrid powertrain option, and it drops the 2.0L I-4 gas-only engine, leaving just the 1.5L turbo I-4 for those who prefer not to go hybrid. The base trim levels, the LX and EX, come with the 1.5L engine that produces 192 horsepower for a peppy ride and 192 lb-ft of torque. This turbocharged engine is also equipped with improved steering, as well as a new suspension system,
For the Sport, EX-L, Sport-L, and Touring trim levels, a hybrid powertrain is the only option. It comes with twin motors and a 2.0L I-4 engine, all of which combine to produce 204 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque, a nice middle ground that can handle both a relaxing drive in the country and rush hour traffic. This engine has lower horsepower than previous models but has an increase in torque output. Along with this, you can feel better about what you’re driving, as you’re helping the environment with more eco-friendly options. In the long run, it’s well worth it since we’ll still have places to see and explore without worrying it will all be gone before we have the chance to get there.

Safety & Tech Features
The Accord now has plenty of extra features that anyone would envy, from the standard Honda Sensing suite to the entertainment setup that will keep everyone occupied instead of asking, “are we there yet?” every few minutes. The 10.2-inch digital driver information display is standard across all 2023 Accords, though the infotainment screens are either seven inches or 12.3 inches, depending on the trim level. All screens are touch-controlled, making it easy to switch between applications. All models include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but the Sport trim and up make it wireless.
If you decide to go with the Touring trim level, you’ll see a couple of other upgrades. The Touring trim comes standard with a six-inch head-up display and a twelve-speaker Bose premium audio system. Bose Centerpoint technology and Bose SurroundStage digital signal processing make you feel like you are in the middle of the music no matter where you are seated in the Accord, so if you are a fan of an enhanced music listening experience, this is the feature for you. The Touring also features the integration of Google built-in, so you can use Google Assistant to access all of your favorite Google apps for navigation, music listening, and more.
Honda has also made some updates to some of the Honda Sensing safety and driver-assist features, starting with a new camera. The new camera has a 90-degree field of view and a wide-angle radar with a 120-degree field of view. This wider view allows the Honda technology to be able to offer better collision prevention as it can detect pedestrians, objects, road lines, curbs, other vehicles, etc. from a wider scope. The Blind spot information has also received an expansion in radar range to 82 feet.
The 2023 Accord also features Traffic Jam Assist, which is a first for this model. You’ll also have Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow, Lane Keeping Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, Rear Seatbelt Reminder, and Rear Seat Reminder, all standard. If you have the Touring trim, you have the option to get Low-Speed Braking Control.
