What makes a Honda Master Technician?
Honda has been producing automobiles since the early 1960s and has had a range of vehicles, from the Honda Accord to the Honda Ridgeline pickup, that are all unique in their own ways. And part of owning a vehicle is the maintenance that comes with it, which is why we employ certified technicians at our Honda service center to repair and maintain to keep your vehicle running like the day you bought it.
Gwinnett Place Honda currently employs 10 Honda Master Technicians who have gone through rigorous training and testing. Becoming a Honda Master Technician is no easy feat and requires years of hands-on experience. In fact, only 15% of all Honda Technicians ever achieve the Honda Master Technician Status.
To earn Master Technician status, they must complete 249 online self-studies as well as 79 in person classroom modules. Master Techs also are required to continue their education and training by completing additional modules every time Honda releases a new model or technology feature. Dependent on the individual, this certification process can take around 3 years to complete.
We are proud to say that of our 10 Master Techs, eight started at Gwinnett Place Honda in our Express Lube department as entry-level technicians. Our longest tenured Master Tech has maintained his status for 15 consecutive years, with no sign of slowing!
Working with a Honda Master Technician gives customers a peace of mind knowing that their vehicle is in very skilled hands. They are trained on every aspect of the Honda vehicles, from engine repair and transmission, to electrical systems and heating and air conditioning. Master Technicians also work directly with our other employees to train them on best practices and make sure that everyone is up to date as models and features change. So rest assured that whether a master technician works directly on your car or not, it is in great hands.
