Why Choose a Honda?
Ever since they first came onto the US market, Honda vehicles have only gotten better and better. For many people, a Honda is the perfect choice for overall value in their vehicle - not only because of their very reasonable prices but also because of what Honda packs into its cars, trucks, and SUVs. When you look at vehicles from many other manufacturers, you will often find that the trims you can afford look nothing like the vehicles in the advertisements. However, Honda strives to give you all the most important features standard on even the base level trims. While certain bells and whistles might only be offered on the highest trim, every Honda comes with fantastic comfort and safety features.
For example, the Honda Sensing suite of advanced safety features that comes standard on almost all recent Honda vehicles is one of the most highly regarded and awarded safety packages in the industry. When drivers look at the overall value of the vehicles they find at their local Honda dealer, the choice becomes clear. If you want excellent technology, impressive comfort, and unbeatable safety - no matter what your budget looks like - then you deserve a Honda car, truck, or SUV.

Honda's Innovative Journey: Consistent Progression
Gwinnett Place Honda strives to provide the Duluth area with the best vehicles for the most reasonable prices - that is why we are a Honda dealer. Honda Motors is an incredibly innovative brand with options for anyone and everyone. From pursuing state-of-the-art performance in its high-end sports cars to minimizing harmful emissions in all of its vehicles and across its supply chain, Honda has consistently led the way for the automotive industry as a whole. Below, we've compiled some facts about Honda's history, its present options, and what makes it such a unique brand.
Honda's Commitment to the Environment
Honda has been exceeding expectations from the very beginning. It's all about setting goals and following through with them. Honda has several goals, one of which includes being as eco-friendly as possible. In the 1970s, Honda was the first automaker to meet Clean Air Act standards without using a catalytic converter, and the company continues to produce innovative and eco-friendly vehicles. In fact, Honda was the very first company to offer a hybrid vehicle for sale in America, with the 2000 Honda Insight. Honda led the way again in 2008 when the FCX Clarity became the first hydrogen fuel cell vehicle available to the public.
Environmentalism is something that the company takes very seriously. Honda follows something called the "Green Path," which helps the company improve fuel efficiency, develop alternatives to gasoline, and reduce harmful substances that can hurt people and the planet. As company founder Soichiro Honda once said, "What will happen to our streams, lakes, and rivers if all that exhaust gas mixed with oil gets pumped into the water? I don't care if everyone else is making two-strokes; Honda has to make four strokes." Honda isn't all talk. The company is nothing but action.
Honda's Sustainable Future goals include eliminating harmful substances from every Honda product, developing vehicles and products that are recyclable, and eliminating endangered materials from all Honda products. Honda monitors energy use, turning off equipment when it's not in use, reducing waste, and even shipping cars via train to reduce CO2 emissions up to 80%. Finally, Honda has "Green Dealers," which are dealerships that use solar power, and Honda even owns America's first dealership to reach "electric grid neutral status," which means that it produces more energy than it uses. This is only the start of Honda's innovation and reliability. There's much more outside of going green.
Honda's History of Innovation
Honda Motor Company got its start in 1946, building affordable motorcycles for post-war Japan. Honda quickly gained a reputation for quality products, and its bikes began picking up wins in international races. In the early 1960s, Honda expanded into four-wheel vehicles with the T360 mini-truck and the S500 sports car. With innovations like four-wheel independent suspension and a dual overhead cam engine, this little roadster marked the beginning of Honda’s automotive fame.
As the decades passed, Honda continued to remain at the forefront of engine technology, with the 1984 Honda Civic Si introducing a powerful direct-injection engine at an affordable price during an era when most cars were still using carburetors. In 1989, Honda introduced its now iconic VTEC system of variable valve timing, allowing it to produce engines with an unprecedented combination of both efficiency and performance.
Today, Honda continues to innovate with new designs, such as its small-displacement turbocharged engines, taking power and efficiency to new levels.
Honda has a long history of building innovative performance vehicles, and nowhere is that better seen than in the Honda NSX super cars. The original 1990 NSX was the world’s first production car to feature an all-aluminum body, which combined with its mid-engine layout and powerful VTEC V6 engine to give it incredible performance for its time. In 2016, Honda introduced a second-generation NSX that went even further, using a cutting-edge hybrid drivetrain that supplemented the turbocharged V6 engine with electric motors for stunning acceleration. Today, many of the world’s most expensive supercars are shifting to this setup that was pioneered by Honda.
The Hottest Honda Models
Honda provides many great vehicle options, including cars, SUVs, trucks, vans, and hybrids. First, let's take a closer look at the Honda Civic. This best-selling compact car first came out all the way back in the 1970s, but it has progressed immensely in performance and style over the years. What once was a blocky, square dad-mobile now has a youthful, sporty appeal with multiple color options and tasteful wheels. The newer Civics are renowned for their excellent gas mileage and strong safety ratings, in addition to their enjoyable performance. However, if you really want to experience everything that Honda is capable of, check out a Civic Si or Civic Type R. These popular cars offer real performance in an affordable and practical package.
Honda also offers several SUV options, all of which are stylish and affordable. The company offers small, compact, and midsize SUVs with great fuel economy, spacious seating, and plenty of cargo space. One of the best-selling SUVs in America is the compact Honda CR-V, which offers an efficient car-like driving experience with a standard turbocharged engine. The midsize Honda Pilot is another notable option for SUV drivers as its three rows of seats will comfortably fit up to eight passengers. The Pilot excellent safety ratings, combined with its capacity, helps make it a great vehicle for larger families. But overall, any of Honda's SUV models will offer a great traveling experience.
While Honda may be best known for its cars and SUVs like the Civic and CR-V, truck drivers can count on Honda with the unique Ridgeline midsize pickup. Unlike traditional trucks, the Ridgeline is built on a unibody platform and has independent suspension, providing unmatched ride quality and handling. The Ridgeline also has a capable all-wheel drive system that will automatically engage to provide you with the traction you need even at highway speeds, and a standard V6 engine will supply you with plenty of power. Best of all, the Ridgeline is the only truck out there with a trunk - that's right, you can lock your valuables in a weatherproof under-bed storage compartment.
As the world seeks to reduce its use of gasoline, Honda continues to expand its lineup of hybrid and alternative-fuel vehicles. Honda is dedicated to preserving the environment, and these cars are great options for environmentalists or anyone who likes to save money on fuel. The Accord Hybrid and CR-V Hybrid are great examples of what Honda hybrids are capable of, especially when it comes to saving money, as their excellent fuel economy makes them ideal for cutting back on travel expenses. For those looking to go even further, there is the Honda Clarity. Available as a plug-in hybrid or as a hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle in some locations, the Clarity takes environmentalism to the next level.
Honda also makes vans that exceed expectations. For example, the Honda Odyssey is a great option for van drivers. It comfortably seats up to eight passengers, and you don't have to upgrade trims to get all the latest driver assistance features and cutting-edge technologies. Overall, the Odyssey is a great Honda model for parents, travelers, or anyone who needs a vehicle that can provide easy access to plenty of seating and cargo space. No matter what you are looking for in your next vehicle, Honda has a model for you.
