Eagle Ranch Volunteer Workday

Gwinnett Place Honda employees spent Saturday morning on October 15th at Eagle Ranch maintaining the Equine Therapy Ranch. Activities included clearing downed limbs, spreading mulch and preparing the pool for winter. This workday provided an opportunity for employees to get to know each other outside of the workplace while giving back to the community. Everyone enjoyed a catered barbecue lunch to relax after a morning of hard work and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the property.

Eagle Ranch is a Christian based home for approximately 80 school age boys and girls. Founded in 1985 the program originally admitted boys only but was extended to girls in 2001. Located in Flowery Branch the campus sits on 310 acres and features 10 homes, a school, chapel and recreational facilities. This unique program helps make life better for children and families going through a crisis.

Gwinnett Place Honda has donated almost $300,000 over the last 10 years to fund the Equine Therapy Program at Eagle Ranch. They have 6 horses on the property, and caring and maintaining the horses develops trust and love bonds for the children. In addition to monetary donations, employees have volunteered at the ranch clearing 5 miles of riding path and maintaining the property.
