Next-Generation Honda Civic Receives Earth Dreams Boost

You might have heard that Honda has been making a lot of exciting inroads with environmentally friendly technology as of late. Among these steps is joining H2USA to improve hydrogen infrastructure stateside, announcing the 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid, and making the FCX Clarity available for lease, just to name a few. Now, the Japanese automaker is adding eco-friendly technology to one of its most popular vehicles: the Civic.

Honda is an automaker with a plan. Their aim is to achieve top-of-industry fuel efficiency over all categories of vehicles in three years, while cutting CO2 levels by thirty percent by 2020. The  technology they're using to achieve this goal is called Earth Dreams, a powertrain that offers fuel efficiency without sacrificing performance.

That's not to say that the Civic isn't fuel efficient already. The 2013 model boasts 28 mpg city and 39 mpg highway *. With this little Earth Dream's boost, the model will be more efficient than ever before.

At the moment, we're not entirely sure which model year Civic will come equipped with Earth Dreams. It could be the 2014 variant, but it's more likely we won't see it until 2015.

In the meantime, we already have a wonderful line of Earth Dream-equipped cars available right here at Gwinnett Place Honda. To learn more about the benefits of these fuel-sipping autos, contact us through our website or stop by our Duluth, GA showroom for a more hands-on experience.
